President's Letter
Dear Curlers
On behalf of the Executive, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2011/2012
curling season and give a brief outline of our structure for the coming year. The
new season will follow the format used at the end of last year where we played
12-14 teams on all 6 sheetsTuesday and Friday mornings at 9:30 AM for 8 ends.
Our starting date will be Oct. 4th 2011 and our closing date will be 16th. March ,
2012. There will be the usual 3 weeks or so break for Christmas, New Years and
Senior Men’s Bonspiel.
We will change the team makeup after every 6 or 7 games. Gary Mitchell must
wait until your applications are in before he can make the first draw but your skip
will contact you in advance to let you know who you are with. Your skip
will also inform you if there are any changes made to this schedule due to
numbers or ice availability.
After crunching the numbers Rob & Peter think we can again manage with no
increase in fees from last year, so they remain at $240. The fee per round will be
$50 for those only able to play 1 or 2 rounds and $130. for each half year
The Senior Mens will be hosting the Senior Men’s Masters Bonspiel in the 1st
week of January 2012 If you want to play or help out let
Roy Johnson know. (250.479.4263)
The spirit of the Esquimalt Senior Men’s C.C. has always been one of
congeniality and friendship with the aim of enjoyment in the game and each
other.
We do need new members, so if you can persuade anyone to come along I am
certain they will enjoy themselves and you wil get a $25 rebate on your fee. Our
age limit is bewteen 50 and 100 years old. We also depend on a reasonable
supply of “spares” so if you know of anyone who can only commit to, or is willing
to try a few games you should feel free to forward their name.
I look forward to seeing you all again next season.
Please complete and post the enclosed application as soon as you can as this
helps your executive to get things up and running.
Alex Miller, President
